For whom does the bell toll?

IMUA CENTER (d/b/a “People’s Knowledge Institute”) is a nonprofit organization that relies on donations, gifts, grants and volunteering to engage in transdisciplinary action research and community education to support Hawai‘i’s transition to a green society. Donations and gifts are tax deductible and exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code.

Every donation makes it possible for us to offer new knowledge-building events and create collective learning opportunities to help more people respond with urgency and boldness to the defining challenges of our times. Please consider giving a gift to our knowledge commons today so we can intensify our efforts to generate critical knowledge that matches the community’s desideratum for equitable and sustainable prosperity.

We recommend that you use the first donation-processing option below provided by the Canadian nonprofit platform Ziffy. They do not charge processing fees—unlike commercial operators such as PayPal or Stripe, who take a noticeable cut. Ziffy encourages a small amount that payers can add voluntarily to allow the processor to continue offering their fee-free service to small nonprofits like ours. Please consider adding 50 cents or $1 to offset transaction costs.

If you prefer to use your PayPal funds for your donation, the second payment option may be more optimal (please scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the PayPal donation button).
